Gabriela León-Pérez is an assistant professor of sociology at Virginia Commonwealth University where she teaches classes on research methods and immigration. Her research focuses on Mexican internal and international migration, the experiences of Latinx immigrants in the United States, and health disparities.
Gabriela was born and raised in Mexico, where she earned a B.A. in International Studies from the Universidad de Monterrey. Later, she completed an M.A. in Sociology from Texas A&M International University and a Ph.D. in Sociology from Vanderbilt University.
